Fishing trawler drags up suspected bomb near Brixham

A fishing trawler has dragged up a suspected wartime bomb off Devon.

The Angelina told coastguards in Brixham the device was found about eight miles (13km) south east of the town on Monday afternoon.

The crew was told to tow it to near the breakwater and mark its position with a buoy so it could be checked.

Bomb disposal experts from Plymouth inspected the device and then carried out a controlled explosion on it at about 11:00 GMT, coastguards said.
