Torbay fast ferry and green transport receive £8m grant
Green transport schemes in Devon are being given almost £8m in grants.
In Torbay, a fast ferry between Torquay and Brixham is being funded by £2.75m from the Department for Transport.
A cycle path and schemes to encourage commuters to use public transport would also be paid for by the grant, the department said.
Devon County Council is receiving nearly £5m to encourage more young people to walk, cycle or take public transport to school or college.
The money is part of £113m being spent on 30 schemes across England from the Local Sustainable Transport Fund, the government said.
