A branch line in Devon, closed because of flooding, has re-opened.

The Tarka Line between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple closed after severe flooding last month between Crediton and Barnstaple.

The route has re-opened with temporary 20mph speed restrictions at the Portsmouth Arms and Chapelton areas, adding four minutes to journeys.

A revised First Great Western timetable will operate to allow for the time increase, Network Rail said.

The Tarka line runs for 39 miles (63km) between Exeter and Barnstaple.
