A380 reopens after Torquay road crash

A major road has reopened after it was closed for about 10 hours following a serious crash in Torquay.

Police said the driver of a Ford Focus saloon was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth with "serious injuries" after the single vehicle crash.

A spokesman said it happened on Hamelin Way, at about 05:00 GMT. The road was closed between roundabouts at Kerswell Gardens and Gallows Gate.

The road was assessed for structural damage before it was reopened.
