Babysitter Jeffery Pincombe jailed for abusing girls
A babysitter has been jailed for nine years after being found guilty of sexually abusing three young girls while he was looking after them.
Jeffery Pincombe, 65, of Amory Road, Tiverton denied eight charges of sexual activity with a child between 2003 and 2009 but was found guilty of six.
Exeter Crown Court was told that on one occasion he abused an eight-year-old while they watched a Grand Prix on TV.
Pincombe was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life.
He was also given a sexual offences prevention order banning him from unsupervised contact with children.
Exeter Crown Court heard Pincombe abused the girls in bathrooms or their bedrooms when he was looking after them.
He denied five offences of sexual assault or engaging in sexual activity in the presence of one child between 2005 and 2009. He was found guilty of four counts.
He denied indecently assaulting a second girl between 2003 and 2005 but was found guilty.
He was also found guilty of one of two offences of sexual activity with a child between 2004 and 2006 with a third girl.
Judge Phillip Wassall said Pincombe "took advantage" of situations when he was left alone with them and "the mental harm" they had suffered would be "difficult to quantify".
