CCTV cameras in Exeter have been made directly available to police for the first time.

Exeter City Council operates more than 100 cameras around the city centre, and council staff previously had to relay details of any incidents to police.

The images were now directly available to staff at Devon and Cornwall Police's force control room at nearby Middlemoor.

Officers added they hoped the move would cut antisocial behaviour.
