Mutley Plain attempted murder: Third man charged

A third man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in Plymouth.

The 23-year-old victim was getting into a taxi in the Mutley Plain area when he was seriously hurt in the assault.

John Randolph, 40, from the Whitleigh area of Plymouth appeared, at Plymouth Magistrates Court.

Nigel Saunders, 45, of Peter's Close, Elburton, and David John Woolley, 49, of Northumberland Street, Weston Mill, were charged on Tuesday.

All three have been remanded in custody by Plymouth Magistrates' Court to appear before the city's crown court on 29 April.

A 44-year-old man who was also arrested in connection with the attack has been released with no further action being taken.

The victim, who has not been named, suffered multiple stab wounds in the attack. He is being treated at Derriford Hospital where his condition has been described as stable.
