South Molton mobility scooter crash victim as William Lock

An elderly man who died days after his mobility scooter collided with a car on a pedestrian crossing has been identified.

William Lock, 86, from South Molton, Devon, suffered serious head injuries in the crash in New Road on 11 January.

He was taken to North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple, where he died two days later from his injuries.

The road was closed for four hours while the scene was investigated by Devon and Cornwall Police.

The driver of the car, a 79-year-old man from South Molton, was uninjured.
