Exmouth £3m watersports centre plans move closer
Plans for a £3m watersports centre on Exmouth seafront have moved a step closer after councillors appointed a developer.
Grenadier Estates will draw up detailed plans for the site on Queen's Drive, which was given outline permission from East Devon District Council, in 2013.
The centre will include a clubhouse and restaurant, along with showers and changing rooms.
Grenadier Estates said it hoped to start building by 2016.
The centre will be open to individual watersports users, schools, clubs, students and other groups.
Councillor Andrew Moulding, deputy leader of the council, said it would put Exmouth "at the forefront for watersports facilities nationally and internationally".
