Roof man arrested over Plymouth Pub on the Hoe 'arson'
A man who was found on the roof of a pub in Plymouth which was on fire has been arrested on suspicion of arson.
Fire crews from across the city and Totnes attended the blaze at the Pub on the Hoe on Citadel Road.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the third floor was well alight when firefighters arrived at about 12:30 GMT.
A joint investigation by Devon and Cornwall Police and the fire service is under way.
Rick Selley, group manager from the service, said while fire crews tackled the blaze "there was a gentleman on the roof of the building which was a concern for us and attempts were made to bring him down".
He added the man has since been taken into police custody.
No-one was injured in the fire.
