Torquay trucker killed in A-road smash named as Andrew Small
A lorry driver who died in a crash on the A38 near Exeter has been named by police.
Andrew Small, 32, from Torquay, came off the Plymouth-bound carriageway and crashed into the hard shoulder of the Exeter-bound lane on 9 April.
His family said they were "shocked at the sudden tragedy" and that he was a "devoted partner, brother and uncle".
Mr Small was described as a true gentleman whose sole purpose in life was to look after his family.
The lorry, which had been travelling towards Plymouth, went out of control and crossed the central reservation, ending up on its side in the opposite carriageway, police said.
A spokesman for the family said: "We can't even begin to describe the devastation we all feel.
"We would now like the opportunity to thank everyone for the love and support shown to us, and we would now like the time and respect to be able to grieve the massive loss to our family."
Police have appealed for witnesses who may have seen the yellow Isuzu heavy goods vehicle travelling on the A38.
