Dorset residents encouraged to cycle with new courses

Dorset residents who want get back on their bikes are being offered a free cycle training taster session.

Instructors will be at St Osmund's School, Dorchester, between 1430 and 1630 BST, on Sunday, to offer assistance.

Dorset County Council has planned more sessions in Bridport and Christchurch after events proved popular during Bike Week in June.

Training is provided by qualified instructors at off-road locations.

Chris Hook, of Dorset County Council's travel choice team, said: "Cycle training has traditionally been targeted at children but surveys carried out in Dorset last summer told us that there is a huge demand for training among adults, too."
