The bodies of a father and his six-year-old son were found "together" at their Dorset home, an inquest heard.

Chris Hall and his son, also called Chris, were discovered inside the house in Queens Road, Poole, on 18 August.

The boy's mother, Rachel Wild, contacted police when she could not raise anyone in the house and officers found the bodies, the hearing was told.

The inquest, which was opened and adjourned, heard more tests were needed to determine the cause of deaths.

'Great stress'

Post-mortem examinations on Mr Hall and his son proved inconclusive, the Bournemouth hearing was told.

Police said no-one else was being sought in connection with the deaths.

Neighbour and friend Phil Haley, 38, said Mr Hall had been incredibly upset by his split with partner Ms Wild.

He said he had spoken about being "under great stress" and about "parts of his life being taken away".
