Man attacks people with golf club in Boscombe

A man is being sought by police after using a golf club to strike two women and a man in a Dorset seaside resort.

The first victim, a 25-year-old woman, was struck on the back as she walked near the junction of Sea Road and Owls Road in Boscombe on Saturday afternoon.

The attacker then ran to nearby traffic lights and "lashed out" at a man and woman.

The first victim suffered bruising to her back. Police are appealing for the other victims to come forward.

Fishing rods

Pc Stuart Winwood, of Dorset Police, said: "The attacker was carrying a golf club and was accompanied by a man and a woman - who were both holding fishing rods - as he walked down Sea Road.

"This was an unprovoked attack on members of the public, who were simply trying to go about their normal lives."

He is described by police as white, about 5ft 9in, of medium build, with a shaven head.

He was wearing dark shorts and trainers and was not wearing a top. He is said to have had a "very tanned complexion".
