Lit firework thrown into Chinese takeaway in Poole

A man who threw a lit firework into a Chinese takeaway in Dorset on Bonfire Night is being sought by police.

The Dina Zone takeaway, on Turlin Road, Poole, was targeted at about 2300 GMT on Friday.

A number of staff were in the takeaway at the time, but were uninjured. A small amount of damage was caused to the shop.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.

'Dangerous attack'

Police said the offender walked towards the takeaway shop from the direction of the nearby school and after throwing the firework ran off into Shipstal Close.

They said a number of people would have been in the area at the time.

Det Con Martin Farrington said: "A number of staff were in the takeaway at the time of this dangerous attack and clearly these actions could have resulted in a serious injury."

The offender is described by police as white, aged about 18, with blue trousers or jeans and a black, hooded top.
