Golf club attackers break man's jaw in Bournemouth

A man was left with a broken jaw and cuts to his head after three men attacked him with golf clubs in Dorset.

The 28-year-old, from the Czech Republic, was set upon in Stewart Road, Bournemouth, at 0200 GMT on Sunday by three men demanding his wallet.

When he refused they beat him around the head with the clubs and searched his pockets. Nothing was stolen.

The victim was treated at Poole Hospital but has since needed to be readmitted for further treatment.

Det Con James Lees, of Dorset Police, said: "This was a violent and cowardly attack on a lone man and I am determined to find those responsible."

The attackers are described as white, aged in their early 20s and wearing hooded tops.
