Repair works for 'unsafe' Dorset quay wall

Wall repair work is to be carried out on an "unsafe" stretch of Town Quay in Christchurch.

The work to stabilise a 40m section of the quay wall, next to a public footpath, begins on Monday.

A two-tier layer of limestone will be placed against the front of the affected wall.

The work is expected to take around two weeks and when complete, the wall will last at least five years, Christchurch Borough Council said.

Designs for a longer-term solution will then be carried out, but are subject to future funding.
