Driver charged with pedestrian deaths in Sandbanks

A driver has been charged with causing the deaths of two pedestrians in Dorset in September.

Alan Bernard, 53, and Rochelle Bernard, 51, from Northwood, London, died when they were struck in Banks Road, Sandbanks, Poole, on 11 September.

A 33-year-old Poole man has been charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving.

He has also been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and failing to provide a specimen of breath.

He is due to appear before Bournemouth magistrates on 30 March.

A post-mortem examination held last year found the victims died at the scene of multiple injuries.

A woman was also injured in the crash.
