Man dies after Bournemouth flat fire rescue
A man has died in hospital after being rescued from a "severe" fire in Dorset.
Fire crews said there was "smoke coming out of all the windows" when they arrived at the flat in St Swithun's Road in Bournemouth at about 0200 BST.
A total of four men were rescued but one, who was found unconscious, later died after arriving at hospital. The others are recovering.
Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said the cause was being investigated in a joint operation with police.
Station manager Alan Jones said: "The first crews found a couple of people on the first-floor balconies that needed rescuing, at the front and the back of the building.
"There was smoke coming out of all the windows.
"As they went into the building there was quite a severe fire which they managed to extinguish and prevent it from spreading into the adjacent property."
