Bournemouth homes evacuated over suspected drug factory

Residents living near a suspected illegal drugs factory in Bournemouth have been evacuated from their homes.

Police cordoned off a property in Methuen Close and said a "small number" of people had been evacuated from nearby homes overnight as a precaution.

The property will be searched on Wednesday.

Dorset Police arrested a 56-year-old man as part of what they said was an inquiry into the suspected production of methamphetamine, or "crystal meth".

They added the arrest was one of several made over the past few months.

Insp Chris Weeks, of Dorset Police, said: "Advice is being given to local residents in relation to the involved substances."
