Dorset band the Andy Grant Trio have new album and tour

Dorchester band the Andy Grant Trio have released a new album and are touring the south of England.

Champagne On Beer Budget, features Andy Grant on vocals and guitar; supported by Simon Rushbrook on double bass and Lee Miller on drums.

It has been produced by Tom Hughes and also features the sound of an organ and electronic keyboard.

The trio formed in 2008 to tour Andy's solo album, Hole in The Sky. Their current tour runs until 26 December.

The tour takes in various locations in the south, including Corfe Castle, Bridport and Portland in Dorset.

The band perform about 150 shows a year.

Andy said: "The trio draw in influences as diverse as Led Zeppelin, J J Cale, George Benson and John Martyn.

"[We] take in elements of blues, rock, jazz and folk and recombine them in a pure acoustic setting."

Andy has featured on BBC Radio Solent several times as a solo artist and as a member of the trio.

Presenter Sally Taylor advised: "You are going to want to see him play live!"
