Injured kayaker is airlifted to hospital in Dorset

An injured kayaker was airlifted to hospital by the coastguard helicopter off the coast of Dorset.

Helicopter "Rescue 106" from Portland was scrambled and Lulworth Coastguard Rescue Team was tasked to a group of kayakers, just east of Lulworth Cove.

The group had made a VHF radio PAN broadcast when a member of their party suffered a dislocated shoulder.

The helicopter lowered their winchman, who helped the kayakers into position to allow the casualty to be airlifted.
