Police find six more guns at Dorset nature park

A further six guns and ammunition have been discovered by police at a Bournemouth nature reserve after a dog walker found a shotgun.

The first gun was found on Kinson Common on Friday. It was not loaded.

A second firearm was found during overnight searches of the common by Dorset Police and a further five were discovered over the weekend.

Police said they do not know where the guns have come from but believe they may be connected to serious crime.

The area remains sealed off while officers investigate.

Ch Insp Ashley Adams, of Bournemouth police, said: "The discovery of these firearms is a serious concern.

"All the weapons will be subject to detailed forensic examination and we will continue to search the area of Kinson Common for any further evidence.

"I'd like to thank the local community for their patience and support and I urge anyone with information, or anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area of Kinson Common to get in touch."
