Fire damages Dorset woodland plantation

Fire has damaged a large area of woodland in Dorset.

Firefighters were called to West Moors plantation near Ferndown at 1930 BST on Saturday where vegetation was alight.

Specialist equipment including an off-road fire engine, pumping Land Rovers and a Unimog off-road truck were used to tackle the blaze.

The fire was brought under control by 2100 BST and crews remained on the scene damping down until 1245 BST.
