Vehicles wrecked in four blazes across Dorset

Four vehicles were wrecked in separate suspected arson attacks across Dorset.

Three cars and a van were destroyed within hours of each other in Bridport, Beaminster and Bournemouth on Sunday night and in the early hours of Monday.

A fire and rescue service spokesman said the vehicles had been "100%" damaged and the cause of each fire was believed to have been deliberate.

The first of the calls, at 2130 BST, was to a car near the Cooper Dean roundabout at Castle Lane, Bournemouth.

The second, on a back road between Broadwindsor and Littlewindsor, near Beaminster, came in at about 2340 BST.

A small commercial van was destroyed in a fire at West Road, Bridport, near the junction with the A35 at about 0400 BST.

Crews were also called to Hopkins Close, in the Townsend area of Bournemouth, at 0450 BST where a car was well alight.

Police investigations are continuing.
