Crews tackle waste paper fire at Dorset factory

Thirty firefighters have tackled a blaze involving three tonnes of waste paper at a recycling factory in Dorset.

Five fire engines were called to the SITA UK site in Mannings Heath Road, near Tower Park, Poole, by Dorset Police on Monday evening.

Crews used five pumps to bring the fire under control.

The £1m plant, which takes cardboard and packaging from homes and businesses in Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Weymouth and Portland opened in 2008.
