German tourist airlifted after Dorset path fall

A tourist from Germany was airlifted to hospital with a broken ankle after she fell on a coastal path in Dorset.

The woman, aged in her 50s, was walking between Bats Head and Swyre near Durdle Door when she fell on Monday afternoon.

The coastguard helicopter was scrambled as there was no easy access for vehicles.

Rescuers airlifted the woman, who was staying in West Bay during her visit, to Dorchester County Hospital where she received treatment.
