Driver dies after car hits tree near Christchurch

A man died after the car he was driving left the road and hit a tree in Dorset.

The 35-year-old from Brockenhurst, Hampshire, lost control of his Mini on the A35 Roeshott Hill, near Christchurch, at about 16:20 BST.

The car crossed to the other side of the road before hitting a tree. The man sustained fatal injures, Dorset Police said.

The road was closed for four hours while officers inspected the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
