Christchurch death crash driver named as Richard Turner

A man who died after the car he was driving left the road and hit a tree in Dorset has been named.

Richard Turner, 35, of Brockenhurst, Hampshire, lost control of his Mini on the A35 Roeshott Hill, near Christchurch, at 16:20 BST on Monday.

An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned in Bournemouth, earlier.

The coroner for Bournemouth, Poole and East Dorset heard that Mr Turner, a retail employee, died at the scene. The cause of his death is "unascertained".

The road was closed for four hours after the crash, while officers inspected the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
