Motorists are being warned of travel disruption and lengthy delays ahead of the Great Dorset Steam Fair.

About 250,000 people are due at the annual five-day event, which begins on Wednesday at Tarrant Hinton to celebrate the history of steam power.

The A354 and A350 are due be worst-affected, but all routes around Blandford will be congested.

Earlier, traffic was disrupted when a convoy of three steam locomotives travelled at 5mph (8km/h) to the site.

The 75-tonne convoy, which is being shown at the fair, was 26m (86ft) long, 2.5m (8ft) wide and set off from Horsham, Sussex in the early hours of Friday.

Drivers are being advised to seek alternative routes and allow extra time for their journeys.
