Boy rescued halfway up 60ft cliff in Dorset

A 10-year-old boy had to be rescued by Lulworth Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team after he became stuck halfway up a 60ft (18m) cliff in Dorset.

The boy's father made an emergency call to the coastguard after his son got into difficulties on the cliff at Man o' War Cove, just east of Durdle Door.

As the call progressed it was then reported a kayaker, who had attempted to go to the boy's aid, was also stuck.

They were lowered down to the beach as a coastguard helicopter kept watch.
