Dorset Ham Common heath fire 'started deliberately'

A heath fire in Dorset is believed to have been started deliberately, firefighters have said.

Dorset Fire and Rescue was called to Ham Common in Hamworthy, Poole, on Saturday afternoon where a 40m by 20m (130ft by 65ft) area was alight.

One pump and a Land Rover attended the scene and crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.

An investigation into the cause has started but the incident is being treated as arson.
