Woman badly injured in Bournemouth stabbing

A woman is in hospital after suffering serious injuries during a stabbing in Dorset.

Police were called to Exeter Road, in Bournemouth, just after 06:30 BST, after reports of the 28-year-old being found injured.

The woman was found outside the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) and is being treated for a stab wound to the chest.

Her condition is not believed to be life threatening.

A police cordon was put in place outside the front entrance of the BIC, and one lane of Exeter Road has been closed while officers investigate.

Detectives said they were trying to trace a man who was seen with the victim in the Exeter Road area before emergency crews arrived.

The man is described as white, with short brown hair. He was wearing jeans and a blue or grey top.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Police urged any witnesses to come forward.
