Christmas meat stolen from Dorset butchers

Burglars who broke into a butchers shop in Dorset stole thousands of pounds worth of meat which had been pre-ordered by customers for Christmas.

Sausages, steak, chicken, bacon and lamb worth about £3,000 were taken from High Lea Farm Butchers in the Witchampton area of Wimborne.

Dorset Police said the thieves broke in through a window in the shop in Witchampton Lane.

The burglary happened between 17:00 GMT on Tuesday and 02:30 GMT on Wednesday.

Police are appealing for anyone who has been offered cheap meat to get in touch in confidence.
