Man wanted over Dorset serious assault
Police investigating an attack on a 36-year-old man in Dorset on New Year's Eve have released the name and a photograph of a man they want to trace.
Dorset Police were called by the ambulance service to Alexandra Road in Bridport on Saturday afternoon following reports of an attack.
The force said Arron Peter Marshall, 22, of Bridport, was wanted on suspicion of serious assault.
Anyone who sees him is advised not to approach him but to dial 999.
Mr Marshall's grandmother has also appealed for him to come forward.
In a statement released through Dorset Police, she said: "I'm asking Arron to please come forward as the family want to know you are safe and well.
"I want him to know that his family is here for him and will support him. Please contact police or your family to let us know that you are safe.
"Your grandparents are anxious to know you are alright and will continue to be there for you."
Mr Marshall is described as white, of medium build and 5ft 11in tall. He has a tattoo of writing on his neck and of a koi carp, a snake, and writing on his right arm.
He has blue eyes and short light brown hair. He walks with a pronounced limp, police said.
The 36-year-old man was seriously injured in the attack and was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Exeter and Devon Hospital where he is in a stable condition.
Police are yet to reveal if a weapon was used. Detectives said the offender fled the scene and asked anyone with information to come forward.
