Some patients at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital in Dorset have contracted a vomiting and diarrhoea bug that has led to two ward closures.

A spokeswoman said the medicine for the elderly ward and the acute lung unit ward were shut as a "precaution" after up to four patients caught the virus.

The wards will remain closed to new admissions and visitors unless by prior arrangement. All other wards are open.

The spokeswoman said the wards would reopen as soon as it was safe to do so.
