Robber threatens Poole bookmakers staff

An armed man escaped with cash after a raid on a bookmakers in Dorset.

Staff at Coral betting shop in Ashley Road, in the Parkstone area of Poole, were threatened with a knife by a man on Monday evening.

No one was injured in the raid and the man fled along Ashley Road. Police would not reveal how much money was stolen.

Police said the road was busy at the time of the raid and officers are urging witnesses to come forward.

The suspect is described as 5ft 10in tall, aged in his mid-20s and of a slim build.

He was wearing jeans, gloves, a black Superdry jacket and his face was covered.

Officers carried out house-to-house inquiries after the incident.
