Bournemouth's CCTV system set for £268,000 upgrade

Bournemouth's CCTV system is to undergo an upgrade and modernisation.

The borough council has set aside £268,000 for new recording and monitoring facilities, with work starting this spring.

Councillor David Smith said it was an investment in "improving community safety and reducing crime and disorder".

The upgrade follows the introduction of four mobile cameras in 2011 for areas not covered by CCTV.
