Family rescued from sinking yacht off Portland

Five people have been rescued from a yacht which began to sink two miles off the Dorset coast.

Coastguards coordinated the rescue after the vessel, with two children, their parents and a friend on board, started to take on water off Portland.

The mother and boys, aged 12 and 14, were airlifted to safety, while the Weymouth lifeboat towed the father and family friend to shore in the yacht.

An investigation is being carried out by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
