Motorcyclist killed in crash on Weymouth relief road

A motorcyclist has died after his bike collided with a car on the A354 Weymouth relief road in Dorset.

Police said his motorbike collided head-on with a Renault being driven by a couple in their 50s at Ridgeway Hill just before 22:00 BST on Friday.

The 39-year-old from the Dorchester area was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Renault driver and his wife had to be cut free from the wreckage by firefighters and were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to the crash to contact them.
