A thatched house in Dorset has been severely damaged by fire.

Crews were called to the building in Moreton, near Dorchester, at 15:50 BST on Wednesday where the thatch roof was alight.

At the height of the blaze there were five fire engines from four stations and 25 firefighters tackling it.

Dorset Fire and Rescue said the blaze had been brought under control by 17:15 BST but crews continued fighting the fire into the evening.

Crews believe a hole in the chimney caused the blaze to take hold. No one was injured in the fire.
