A climber fell to his death from a cliff on the Dorset coast, an inquest has heard.

Staff Sgt Christopher Martin, from Cheshire, had been climbing along Dancing Ledge, near Langton Matravers, Swanage, on 23 August.

The 32-year-old, who was on leave with his girlfriend, died from his injuries in hospital.

An inquest at Dorchester Coroner's Court recorded a verdict of accidental death.

Staff Sgt Martin served as a physical training instructor with 6 Battalion the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in Tidworth, Wiltshire.

Colleagues described him as "an exemplary instructor" and "an extraordinary man".
