Dorset weather: Flooding threat as heavy rain is forecast

People in Dorset have been warned to be prepared for possible flooding over the weekend.

The Environment Agency has issued flood warnings for the Lower and Upper Frome, the River Char and the River Wey.

Heavy rain and gales around Weymouth and the coast have been forecast by The Met Office.

Earlier in Melplash near Beaminster firefighters rescued two people from a car after they became stranded in floodwater.

Firefighters from Beaminster, Bridport and a special rescue team from Weymouth were called to the car on the A3066 in the early hours.

Dorset Police are warning drivers not take any risks driving through floodwaters.
