Part of a beach has been cordoned off after a "large landslip".

Portland Coastguard was called just before midday after a section of cliff fell near Lyme Regis, Dorset.

The Portland rescue helicopter was sent to search for casualties following the incident at Monmouth Beach. It quickly established no one was in danger.

Lyme Regis Coastguard Rescue Team put a temporary cordon in place and the public are asked to stay away until the situation has been stabilised.

The road to several huts on Monmouth Beach was closed indefinitely following a landslip last month.
