Fisherman rescued after boat fall off Weymouth

A fisherman has been treated in hospital for hypothermia after falling into the water off the Dorset coast.

The man, in his 20s, was fishing off Weymouth on Wednesday afternoon when part of the boat's stern collapsed.

He was spotted clinging to the back of his boat by another fishing vessel, which went to his rescue.

Watch manager at Portland Coastguard said the fisherman had survived almost an hour in the low sea temperature as he was wearing a flotation suit.
