Driver sought after cyclist injured in Bournemouth

A motorist who drove away after knocking a cyclist off her bike in Bournemouth is being sought by police.

The 36-year-old woman was found on the northbound carriageway of the A338 Wessex Way at about 07:45 BST near the Cooper Dean Roundabout.

She has been taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries.

Police said the make of the vehicle is unknown, but it was believed it would have a damaged headlight. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Officers returned to the scene on Sunday morning to carry out further inquiries.
