A man has been airlifted to hospital after crashing into cliffs while paragliding along the Jurassic Coast in Dorset.

The 49-year-old was found on a bank at the base of a cliff between West Bay Harbour and Eype Mouth by coastguards just before 20:00 BST.

He suffered chest, rib and lower limb injuries, Portland coastguard said.

It is believed the man, from Yeovil, lost control of the parachute when his speed dropped suddenly.
