Five bailed in Christchurch armed robbery probe

Five people arrested after staff at a Dorset post office were threatened with a sword have been released on bail.

Two men entered Hurn Post Office in Matchams Lane, Christchurch, at about 15:30 BST on Tuesday and stole cash.

Police are trying to trace a red Ford Escort in connection with the robbery.

Two men from Liverpool, aged 24 and 26; a 22-year-old man and 27-year-old woman, both from Ferndown, and a 31-year-old Wimborne woman have been bailed.

The woman from Wimborne was held on suspicion of assisting an offender.

The other four suspects were questioned on suspicion of robbery. It is not yet known how much cash was stolen.
