Askerswell caravan-towing crash victim dies

A woman has died after the car she was in crashed as it towed a caravan and rolled several times across a road in Dorset.

The 48-year-old was a passenger in a Land Rover being driven by a 52-year-old man, who suffered minor injuries.

A boy, aged 11, also in the car, was unhurt in the accident on the A35 near the village of Askerswell.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw the accident, or saw the car and caravan prior to the crash.

The woman, from Poole, was taken to Southampton General Hospital with life-threatening head injuries. She died on Tuesday morning.
