Digger and worker topple into sea at Portland

A man operating a digger suffered "significant injuries" when the machine fell 20ft (6m) into the sea with him still in the cab.

The machine toppled over a wall at Castletown, Portland, on Saturday afternoon.

The Portland Coastguard helicopter team worked with fire and ambulance crews to rescue the man from the water following the incident at about 15:45 GMT.

He was taken by helicopter to Southampton General Hospital.
